Unlock the power of etymology for your students through a study of Latin and Greek Affixes and Roots! Through these activities, students learn the meanings of the Greek prefix mono-, and Latin prefixes uni-, bi-, and tri- in words like monolingual, unilateral, bimonthly, and tripod.
Who are these games and activities for?
In Four In A Row, students spin a spinner and find a definition, sentence, or image depicting a word on the game board that follows the root or word part hint they spun. They must cover the space, build the word with letter tiles or write the word on a white board (optional), and record it on their recording sheet. Their goal is to cover four definitions/sentences/images in a row (vertically, horizontally, or diagonally).
