These students have already been introduced to digraphs and consonant blends and typically spell most blends and digraphs correctly. They have also worked with same-vowel word families as well as mixed-vowel word families and often represent short vowels accurately but may struggle when the support of word families is removed. These games and activities allow students to compile what they have learned and give them repeated practice opportunities to become more accurate spellers.
